Animated Knots by Grog is a fascinating site. There are several sections with knots for climbing, fishing, boating, household, decorative and more. The knots are shown with animated pictures. You can watch them fast, slow or step by step.

Origami is one concept for folding paper, paper planes are another. Wikipedia is a good starting point. They mention that it is also called aerogami, that sounds a lot fancier. Alex’s paper airplanes is a good place to find designs.

I got some origami paper for Christmas so I need to learn more about it and of course practice some. Wikipedia has useful information and at Origami is a gallery and also diagrams for models, from simple to complex ones.
